The Wilcox G66 Mount System is a permanent mount design, developed at the request of special operations units who wanted the lowest profile, lightest weight helmet mount solution. The G66 does not mount to a standard helmet shroud but rather bolts directly to helmets using the standard 3-hole helmet shroud pattern. The entire system is permanently assembled. It features all the same adjustment ranges found in traditional Wilcox designs, but sits closer to the helmet surface. This provides the added benefit of being able to place night vision devices closer to the user's eyes, especially important when using thicker ballistic helmets. Incorporating operator feedback, Wilcox increased the length of travel for the horizontal adjustment, giving the G66 a total of 1.4″ (approx 1/3″ more than the legacy G24). This added length helps to better accommodate shooters wearing protective or corrective eye-wear and gas masks.
The G66 features a dovetail interface for direct attachment of standard dovetail NVG’s such as Nocturn Katana, Act in Black DTNVS, and any PVS-14s that have a dovetail arm. It is one of the most adjustable mounts available with full vertical, fore/aft, and tilt adjustment to place NVG’s in proper position for operators.
When flipped up into the stowed position, the G66 places the goggle in a more vertical orientation in front of the helmet. This helps provide a lower profile for the operator, assisting them in negotiating the battlefield.
The G66 kit comes complete with a Wilcox lanyard and mounting hardware.
