Macabre Solutions HUGGER Counterweight Pouch

The Macabre Solutions HUGGER Counterweight Pouch is a scalable counterweight pouch for head-mounted night vision or thermal systems. Designed to hold enough weight to properly balance any night vision or thermal setup, the Hugger can be loaded with our Weight Rods, 18650s, or CR123A  batteries to achieve optimal counter-balance. Two integral straps can be cinched down and hug the weights as close to the helmet as possible.

Critical for long-term comfort is previse fore/aft weight balance. Improperly balanced head-mounted systems will dig into your brow, shift around and quickly cause discomfort.

Easy to Use

The Hugger Counterweight Pouch is simple to use and stays flush to the helmet:

1. Open the 2 main velcro flaps
2. Insert Weight Rods, CR123As, 16650 or 18650 batteries in the elastic loops to achieve the precise weight you need to balance your helmet perfectly
3. Insert one end of the small diamond-shaped keepers into each of the metal glides.
4. Fold the diamond shaped keeper in half and install into rear of helmet via the helmet bolts.
5. Insert each of the 2 built-in straps on the Hugger through the glides. Close the bottom of the Hugger, cinch the laminate flaps down and close the top flap. 

Scalable Weight

Made in Canada by Macabre Solutions from US materials, the Hugger Counterweight Pouch is scalable to accommodate for a wide range of required weights. The Hugger can come with your choice of up to 5 Weight Rods. Each Weight Rod is:

• 100% Made in Canada from mild steel then black oxide coated for a lifetime of use
• Will not oxidize or rust overtime unlike brass or iron; maintains stealthy appearance from all angles
• Non-toxic
• weighs 125g each providing up to 625g of total weight with 5 rods.
  Recommended Weights are as follows:
  • Quad-tube systems - 5 rods
  • Binocular or Dual-Band systems - 3-4 rods
  • Monocular systems - 2 rods
