LEARN MORE

The U.N.V.M. Talon Ultralight Night Vision Monocular is a full-featured, ultra-lightweight alternative to the industry-standard AN/PVS-14. Engineered using a carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic composite housing, the Talon delivers exceptional durability, reduced weight, and full optical compatibility—without sacrificing performance.

At just 53 grams (CR123A configuration, housing only), the Talon housing is approximately 50% lighter than a standard AA PVS-14 housing (115g), significantly reducing helmet load and neck strain during extended night vision operations.

Ergonomics are streamlined around a single, tactile multi-function control knob. Press-and-hold operation powers the unit on or off, while detented rotation provides precise gain adjustment. A double-tap activates the onboard IR illuminator, confirmed by an in-view indicator; a single tap deactivates it. When IR is active, rotational input adjusts illuminator intensity to suit environmental conditions. The same interface allows users to enable or disable the auto-off feature when stowed. A low-battery indicator provides a clear notification when replacement is required.

The Talon is compatible with standard EGAC MX-11769 image intensifier tubes as well as 3-pad MX-11769 European-style tubes without modification. It interfaces with standard PVS-14 J-arms and accessories. The unit ships standard with a CR123A battery cap, while AA and CR2 caps are available for rapid interchange using the existing battery cap lanyard. The image tube pod is fully cross-compatible within the Talon and Raptor binocular product families.
