Nocturn Industries Tanto Monocular Starter Kit

The Nocturn Industries Tanto is the first step in a paradigm shift in convertible and scalable night vision systems. When paired with another Tanto and the Daisho articulating bridge, the system is transformed into a single-power, articulating bridge that weighs similar to dedicated binocular systems. No longer do users have to purchase a PVS-14 and then sell it if they want to move into a binocular system, they now simply have to additively scale the system as required. 

The Cold Harbour Supply Tanto Complete Monocular system is assembled with NNVT NVT4-AG (1600+ FOM autogated) white phosphor intensifiers to get you into the latest night vision technology without breaking the bank. This build also uses US Milspec lenses for the highest optical quality available in the areas of contrast, rectilinear distortion, light transmission, lack of chromatic aberrations, and off-axis flare reduction and artifacting. 

Each device will also be tested using our in-house Hoffman night vision test set and a full test report will accompany each unit.

The Tanto, in its monocular configuration, shares the same J-arm footprint as the PVS-14, but is substantially lighter. To transform into a binocular, users simply remove the battery cap and battery, insert the bridge into the battery compartment, and tighten the rear clamp screws on the bridge. The bridge enables the use of a single battery for both tubes, has built in IP stops similar to the UANVB “Katana”.

Push button on/off in the cap reduces weight and complexity, and reduces the footprint of the monocular. When assembled to the TAB “Daisho” bridge, extra features are enabled such as articulation to the side for single or dual eye use. The articulating design also enables users to operate vehicles without limiting head space by eliminating the need to stow the unit upright or to tuck the pods against the helmet when stowed.

The Tanto is rugged and has been drop from the NATO 1.5 meter drop test standard onto concrete, as well as meets and exceeds MIL-STD-810G.
