The Nocturn Industries Katana-R is the next evolution of the popular Katana binocular night vision system. The Katana Ruggedized is a full-metal housing precision machined out of 7075T6 aluminum and features the same reliability and simplicity of the polymer Katana.
The Katana-R features individual pod shut-off, IPD stops, user-adjustable pod tension, and new for the Katana line - a low battery indicator. The device is powered by an onboard CR123A battery for a 25+ hour continuous run time and also equipped with a 2-pin 00B LEMO port for use with offboard battery packs (such as our USBP) for additional runtimes.
Operation is simple - the power button is integral to the battery cap and users can click to turn on/off the device. Simple. Rugged. Reliable.
To reduce system weight with no optical penalties, add the Nocturn Industries Lightweight Diopters to this build - simply add them to cart along with this device and we will assemble them together.
Each device will also be tested and collimated using our in-house Hoffman night vision test set and a full test report will accompany each unit.

The articulating design allows users to use one eye or both eyes enabling the simultaneous use of a thermal optic or other non-passive aiming systems. This also enables users to operate vehicles without limiting head space by eliminating the need to stow the unit upright or to tuck the pods against the helmet when stowed.
