The Raptor from Nocturn Industries is a full-featured binocular NVG system that features familiar one-knob controls (similar to the L3 PVS-31A). Engineered with carbon-fibre reinforced thermoplastic composite, the Raptor surpasses other polymer housings and is similar to 6061T6 aluminum in strength. 

Controls are simple - double-tapping the button enables the IR illuminator with an integrated indicator showing status inside the eyepiece. Brightness of the IR illuminator is now adjustable while the illuminator is active. When the IR illuminator is not on, turning the knob will adjust intensifier gain. 

A key feature of the Raptor is the ability to remove the optic pod and convert it to the Talon as a monocular. (Professional installation is recommended due to the requirement to repurge the device and re-collimate). On-board power provides over 20+ hours of continuous runtime and with individual pod auto-shutoff when rolled up, battery life is extended. Offboard power is available via a built-in 00B-LEMO port.

Featuring your choice of Photonis Echo 1800-2200 FOM,  Photonis Echo+ 2200+ FOM, 2200+ FOM, or Photonis 4G 1800-2200+ FOM white phosphor image intensifier tubes, each Raptor is cleaned, assembled, purged, and tested in-house with precision tools using our digital nitrogen purging rig, downdraft table, and clean room. Each device will also be tested and collimated using our in-house Hoffman night vision test set and a full test report will accompany each unit.

The articulating design allows users to use one eye or both eyes enabling the simultaneous use of a thermal optic or other non-passive aiming systems. This also enables users to operate vehicles without limiting head space by eliminating the need to stow the unit upright or to tuck the pods against the helmet when stowed.
