Marketing Specialist (Contract)


  • Expert familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere (HSL sliders, tone curves, colour correction & colour-grading, speed-ramping, sound-design and voice-overs as some examples)
  • Experience designing Mailchimp email campaigns from scratch, and Shopify integration
  • Expert familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram Stories, Reels, Facebook Posts & Videos, and how to optimize media for these platforms)
  • Experience using Tiktok to create short-form video content is preferred
  • Expert experience working with off-camera lighting, product photography and studio backdrops

Required Equipment:

  • Digital SLR or Mirrorless camera (Sony preferred) with at least one fast prime or large-aperture zoom lens
  • PC or Mac capable of editing/rendering 4K S-log footage
  • Access to or ownership of relevant props (eg: tactical equipment, firearms, etc.) is highly preferred
  • Contractor-owned studio space or space that could be converted to be used as a studio, is preferred (backdrop materials and lighting can be provided if required). Please include details of what studio equipment you currently own


  • Creating Mailchimp email marketing campaigns with at least one news article (content will be provided), and product updates as relevant (at least once weekly) with direction from the Director
  • Capturing photos and videos and creating social media posts (at least 3x weekly) using highly-engaging, relevant materials
  • Editing photos and videos in social-compliant formats
  • Producing product photos in a studio setting (applicant's own studio space is preferred; backdrop will be provided)
  • Available for off-site trips (up to 3 hours away) to venues to capture photos/videos at least once a month (full day). Mileage will be reimbursed if contractor vehicle is used. Time paid does not include transit time.

About you:

You are a media professional with a keen eye for dynamic lighting and creating engaging, thought-provoking content in both photo and short-form video formats. If you see a piece of media or art that interests you, you find yourself wondering how it was made. You are constantly pushing yourself to use new technologies or methods of creating innovative content and have a non-compromising eye for quality and detail. You are seeking not only a creative but physical challenge "to get the perfect shot".

Fine Print:

  • This is a remote-work contract role but preference will be given to individuals who reside in the GTA (for the convenience of product and prop transfer).
  • Remuneration will be paid monthly based on hours worked at an agreed-upon rate. Contractor is expected to invoice for hours worked with a timesheet.
  • Experience with night vision is not required.
  • Approximately 8-12 hours of work a week should be expected
