The Cold Harbour NVG Daytime Training Filter (DTF) opens up the opportunity to train with NVGs during the daytime, in more locales and environments. Instructors and supervisors can instruct and observe in lit conditions with full field of view and visibility, while operators can experience simulated darkened conditions. The DTF is compatible with most night vision devices that use PVS-14 pattern optics (eg: L3 BNVD-1531, DTNVS, Katana, Manticore, MH-1, RNVG, RPNVG, RNVG-A, etc)

The DTF improves over legacy pinhole covers in two ways:

  • Pinhole covers reduce depth of field, making everything in focus. This is not an accurate representation of actual night time NVG use where distant objects are in focus and close objects are blurry. The DTF portrays the correct depth perception leading to more effective training.
  • The DTF securely threads onto the objective lens of your NVG and does not easily pop off during strenuous movements, vibration or impacts

This filter is offered in 2 levels:

Level 1
- For NNVT, Photonis ECHO/ECHO+ and other Gen2+ image intensifiers, Level 1 DTFs can be used indoors in average-lit rooms but will appear as if the lights are off. Not recommended for outdoor use.

Level 2 - Recommended for Photonis 4G High Gain and Gen 3 image intensifiers, Level 2 DTFs cut out even more light to simulate extreme low light conditions. Level 2 DTFs are able to be used outdoors in cloudy or overcast conditions and will simulate a moonlit night. When used in average-lit rooms, the Level 2 DTF will simulate extremely dark conditions.

The DTF in outdoor use simulates a full moonlit night on a sunny day.

STACKED PROTECTION
The DTF can be stacked behind your protective polycarbonate lens protector for Force on Force applications and multi-hit ballistic protection. The DTFs alone is made of glass and NOT impact resistant.

For the best experience, it is advised that operators equip their NVGs with rubber eye cups to block out peripheral light.

Sold as singles. For binocular devices buy two.
