Rochester Precision Optics (RPO) 3.0 PVS-14 Objective Lens

The Rochester Precision Optics (RPO) 3.0 PVS-14 objective lens improves upon previous versions by addressing flare artifacts and the surrounding halo effect around the periphery of the night vision image, while also providing a substantial weight savings. Reduction in weight in the lens system translates to a reduction to overall system weight, alleviating headborne weight and extending user comfort.

A complete RPO 3.0 Lens Set offers weight savings over traditional PVS-14 optics as follows:

• Objective Lens: 35g (RPO) vs 53g (Carson US Milspec) - 33% weight reduction
• Eyepiece Lens: 41g (RPO) vs 59g (Carson US Milspec) - 31% weight reduction

When combined with the matching RPO 3.0 Eyepiece Lens, on a binocular system, this translates to approximately 72g in weight savings. As a frame of reference, the DTNVS with standard milspec optics drops from 520g to 448g, or about the same weight as a set of L3 PVS-31A.

The RPO 3.0 Objective Lens can be used with both RPO 3.0 eyepieces and the new NVD-Next Eyepiece Lens Assembly. RPO is packaging the 3.0 objectives with NVD-Next lens sets and is the recommended objective for use with NVD-Next Eyepieces
