LEARN MORE
The Cold Harbour Universal Picatinny Flip-to-Side (UP-FTS) is a 1.54" or 1.93" optic mount designed to allow users to quickly flip a supplementary thermal optic to the side, while also allowing the user to dismount the thermal completely and get it on a compatible helmet-mounted bridge. With the UP-FTS, users can simply install their thermal optics on their rifle and flip the thermal into and out of view as desired, instantly adding thermal capabilities to their day optics.
The UP-FTS, when used with our Picatinny Dovetail Adapter Plate (PDAP) for Jerry-YM/YM-Mini or Pfalcon640/RH25. allows for the thermal to be quickly dismounted and installed into a helmet-mounted night vision/thermal bridge, such as the Panobridge M1. A common use-case is using helmet-mounted night vision/thermal to scan for targets and threats, and then quickly dismounting off the helmet, mounting on the rifle for precise targeting and engagement
Because the UP-FTS is symmetrical, it can be mounted to swing the clip-on optic to the left or the right, depending on user preference.
An adjustable Picatinny interface offers the following improvements over dovetail-based Flip-to-Side mounts:
- Over 500% increase in mating surface area for improved distribution of recoil force
- Picatinny clamps will not wear out over time unlike the Wilcox flip-down locking bar or dovetails
- Adjustable tension to account for variance in tolerances to ensure perfect lockup and true and repeatable return-to-zero
- Tilt can be adjusted and fine tuned via grub screw for optimal co-witnessing through thermal
The FTS mechanism is tension-adjustable and loaded by a cone washer on the main spindle to ensure that the FTS will not lose tension over time or under recoil. The FTS mechanism is stopped at the 90-degree angle by an integral stop.
Note:
V3 Updates: The V3 of the UP-FTS includes integration of the rotation stop into the main body vs a steel pin; and application of VC3 thread-locker to allow for adjustable tension while eliminating possibility of loosening over time. Users can still disassemble the FTS and apply more permanent thread-locker if desired. The 1.93" version also include these upgrades.
Aftermarket risers may be needed to get your thermal optic to the correct height. The UP-FTS and PDAP combos on the Jerry-YM and Pfalcon 640 are made to line up with standard lower 1/3rd (1.54") or 1.93" optics from the centreline of their output screens. Use of a Unity Fast Riser with the 1.54" version will achieve a 2.26" optic centre line compatible with a more "heads-up" shooting position.

Very solid, a little tight to get it on the pic rail, but loosened it up a short bit and it went right on and fit snug. The bolt retaining the two pieces together and allowing the flip to side action seems to be extremely sturdy and would allow many years of use. But of course the star of the show would have to be the fact that it untilizes the pic rail locking mechanism to attach the thermal to the front over the dovetail so it wont wear out near as fast, or in this case, at all since it can ve tightened down as it wears.
Most certainly worth the money compared to other market options out there, and most importantly allows you to use a standard 1.54 - 1.60 “ opticline scope mounting system.
Strong and durable. Perfect for the use case.
Very unique piece. As far as i know no one makes a double qd fts for thermal. I love mine, really makes my thermal more versatile. From helmet mount, to handheld,to gun mount with zero tools! WIN
I'm an airsoft gun enthusiast, but the replica mounts I had were broken after 2-3 uses in games, so I wanted something that would work with real guns, and I bought this. It's sturdy as expected, and I've been using it with my PDAP and so far there's been no loosening or rattling.
